This is my favorite combination. It is a mix of healthy fats, fruits, and vegetables. It’s simple yet so delicious.
- Cashew, oat, or almond milk is my favorite milk for a creamy, rich smoothie. You can use any milk, dairy, or non-dairy.
- Spinach is a great leafy green superfood that you can add to your green smoothies. These large containers of baby greens are also very cost-effective.
- Fruits You will need an avocado, an apple, and a banana. This is a healthy balance of fruits. Below are some ingredient substitutes if you’d like to change any of them.

- Mix up your greens. Kale, spinach, or chard are some leafy greens that blend well. If you happen to have romaine, celery or mustard greens on hand, these are also great choices.
- Use a healthy liquid as a base. Since you will already be adding fruits to your smoothie, there is no need to add additional sugars. Choose water or milk instead (dairy-free or dairy-free).
- You can make it thicker by adding another 1/4 avocado slice. Add more liquid to make your smoothie thinner.
- A 2:1 ratio is a good guideline for mixing fruits and vegetables. You can gradually increase the ratio to 1:1 for a smoothie with lower sugar. My favorite fruits include frozen mangos and strawberries.
